Who You Are:

We require a senior architectural technologist with extensive Revit experience and strong BIM skills who is capable of coordinating with consultants and producing accurate drawing packages and details. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who can assist in supporting early career technologists and be an integral and accountable member of a project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and lead in the continued development and maintenance of the office drawing standards and details.

  • Assist in the creative development of a project from inception through to detail design, contract documents, and review of consultants’ and contractors’ work.

  • Develop projects in Building Information Modelling (BIM)., including:

    • Develop Unity BIM capabilities to meet and exceed the demands of the industry, while formulating long-range goals and objectives to keep us at the forefront of software and technology.

    • Establish and implement strategies and goals with the Director of Technical Standards and Principals to assist in meeting the goals and objectives of Unity for improved efficiency and production.

    • Work with the Project Team Leads to review issues and establish a basis for implementing Unity established goals and objectives across all projects.

    • assist in the production of Unity design documentation phases with BIM Execution Plans, modeling of Revit families/content, creation and maintenance of standard units and details, automating routines to support Unity standards with increased efficiency and productivity in utilizing the software.

  • Be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, quality control and completion of projects, ensuring consistency with design intent, studio strategy, commitments, and goals.

  • See the big picture and expertly coordinate multiple channels by keeping aware of the project, client goals, and managing internal resources and budget.

  • Provide on-site representation and manage contract administration as required.

  • Coordinate and work with project team members, including consultants, in a collaborative approach.

  • Build and maintain strong relationship with clients and consultants.

  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Studio to ensure a clean and managed working environment is met.

Key Skills / Experience:

  • Diploma from an accredited Architectural Technologist Program, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Relevant experience using Revit, BIM, and collaboration software in the workforce.

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian/Ontario building code and standards, building science, and construction details.

  • Strong work ethic, team player, and pro-active attitude.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

What You Can Expect During The Hiring Process:

  • 2 initial pre-screen questions via email.

  • 1st interview with Kristy Hook, Principal, one other member of the leadership team, and the Director, BIM.

  • All applicants will be notified of whether they will advance.

  • Exercise to prepare in advance of the 2nd interview.

  • 2nd interview with all Principals of Unity.

  • Decision and offer within 2 weeks of commencing the interview process.
